*Delhi: Sunil Arora takes charge as the new Chief Election Commissioner of India.

*Prime Minister Narendra Modi confirmed that India will host the G20 summit in the year 2022, when it completes 75 years of independence. PM Modi at #G20Summit said that It's India's 75th Independence Day in 2022 & we had requested Italy if we can get '22 instead of '21 (for hosting G20 summit).They accepted our request, others accepted it too.I'm grateful & I invite leadership from across the world to come to India in 2022.

*South Africa President, Cyril Ramaphosa, accepts Prime Minister Narendra Modi's invitation to be the chief guest for India's Republic Day celebrations in 2019.

*Supreme Court imposes a cost of Rs 50,000 each on some State governments including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha, Assam and Goa for not cooperating with the Centre in filling up vacancies in Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL).

*Total no. of GSTR 3B Returns filed for month of October up to 30th November 2018 is 69.6 lakh. Govt has settled Rs 18,262 cr to CGST& Rs 15,704 crore to SGST from IGST as regular settlement. Rs 11,922 cr has been released to states as GST compensation for months of Aug-Sep, 2018.

*Total Gross GST revenue collected in November, 2018 is Rs. 97,637 crore of which CGST is Rs. 16,812 crore, SGST is Rs. 23,070 crore, IGST is Rs. 49,726 crore (including Rs. 24,133 crore collected on imports) & Cess is Rs. 8,031 crore(including Rs. 842 crore collected on imports).

*The Defence Acquisition Committee (DAC) approved procurements of about Rs 3000 crores including BrahMos Missiles for two Indian Navy ships, and Armoured Recovery Vehicles (ARVs) for Indian Army's Main Battle Tank Arjun.

*America has lost a patriot: US remembers George H W Bush, who passed way on November 30 (local time, December 1 IST).
